40 Days and 40 Nights
A Diary of a Biblical Fast
Larry E “Buck” Hunter - I am beginning a non calorie liquid only 40 Day fast. However, I will betaking my daily medicines and daily vitamin pack.
I will keep you informed each day as I proceed. I will be happy to answer any question, as well as, prayer request.
Day 1 - The Journey Begins: January 1st, 2015
The HOLY SPIRIT has proclaimed and called me, Larry E. "Buck" Hunter, to this period of Fasting and Prayer.
To begin on January 1st, 2015 at 12:01 AM and end on February, 10th, 2015 at 1 AM. The Holy Spirit also directed me to record a diary of each day to be used for encouraging and teaching others the benefits of fasting.
WHEN YOU FAST - NOT IF YOU FAST
Mathew 6:16-18 - Whenever you fast do not look gloomy, sour or dreary like the hypocrites, for they put on dismal countenance, that their fasting maybe apparent to and seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full already.
But when you fast, perfume your head and wash your face, so that your fasting may not be noticed by men, but by your FATHER, who sees in secret; and your FATHER, who in secret, will REWARD you in the open.
You notice in that verse it is WHEN YOU FAST, not IF YOU FAST. Also the LORD promises you a reward for the fast. (More on this later)
FASTING IS A TOOL TO USE FOR BREAKING THE YOKES OF
Isaiah 58: 6-10. Is not this the FAST that I have chosen: To lose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bonds of the yoke, to let the oppressed to go free, and that you break every enslaving yoke?
Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house?
When you see the naked that you cover him, and that you hide not yourself from the needs of your own flesh and blood.
The shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life)
Shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with GOD)
Shall go before your [conducting you to peace and prosperity] and the Glory of the LORD shale be your rear guard.
(Isaiah 52:12 and the GOD of Israel will be your REAR GUARD.)
Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shale cry, and He will say, HERE I AM. If you take away from your midst yokes of oppression [Wherever you find them], the finger pointed in scorn [towards the oppressed or the godly], and every form of false, harsh, unjust, and wicked speaking.
And if your pour out that with which you sustain your own life for the hungry and satisfy the need of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in darkness, and your obscurity and gloom become like the noonday.
